On Our Way Out

So this is the day Burt graduates from residency. It is hard to believe it is finally here. Burt and I got married about 2 weeks before he started medical school. Now seven years later we are finally to the point that training is over. And with that we are moving yet again. We are off to Fort Campbell, KY. It is funny that is where I wanted to be stationed when I knew he was joining the Army to pay for medical school. Now I don't want to leave Fort Benning, GA, a place I didn't want to come for residency (my vote was Fort Gordon.) It is funny that now I call this place home. I have wonderful friends who are like my family and just love this town in general. I am sure there are new adventures God has in store for us. We prayed that God would place us where he wanted us and even though we wanted to stay here, God knows best. We will rely on him for this new chapter in our lives as we do with each new chapter.

So as we take the next few days to move, there won't be posts until we get to our new place with new computer service.

Graduation Dessert

Dr Newton hosted a residency graduation dessert to say goodbye to the graduating residents. It was a nice evening to socialize with the graduating class.

BJ's in PJs

Sunday evenings Ben and Jerry's has BJ's in your PJs. If you come in your pjs you get a discount. John thought was pretty cool when his daddy told him that earlier in the week so we put him in his pjs and got some ice cream. I don't think many people take advantage of this deal because the workers had to ask what the special was. We thought it was great because instead of paying $3.49 for a cone we paid $1.99 for John's cone. All of a sudden people are offering to take family shots so we are getting lots of family shots lately which I love.

I think Clara was a little sad she didn't get any ice cream.

The Current State of Our Home

It is 11:30 pm and what am I doing, on the computer blogging. It has been a stressful busy day to say the least. It started out at 7 am when I got up to start getting ready for the packers. Of course, this is the one day the kids decide to BOTH sleep late. John slept until 8:20 and Clara until I woke her up at 8:40. I took John to Chaille's house and got home for the movers who were supposed to be here at 9 am. At 9:45 or so they showed up. Clara could sense the stress and wasn't happy unless I was holding her walking. Burt came home at 2 pm so I went and got John to relieve Chaille of my very energetic little boy. We got home and I ate and decided to take John to get some ice cream. The poor thing walked to his toy box and open his mouth wide and gasp. He wanted his toys out of that box and he was going to take the tape off and dump them out. We got back from ice cream and the movers were here until 5:40. We had dinner plans with Ms. Betty at 6 pm so we rushed to dinner. Then took John to Sara's house so we could go to a residency graduation dessert at Dr. Newton's house. Picked up John at 10 pm, got home, took a shower and it is now finally time for bed. Good night!

Saying Goodbye

I am not good at these goodbye things. I am sure I am going to have to get better at it since I am an Army wife. On Monday my dear friends Sara and Teresa arranged us a babysitter and a girls day to go get pedicures. It was so nice to spend some time together before we leave. I don't know what we are going to do with out them. I don't think there is a week go by that we are all not together. Our kids play great together and I think John would live at Sara's house if we let him since that is normally where we congregate. My new pedi, don't you love my flip-flop tan line?
I don't know how Sara does it, but all the kids lined up in order to get their popsicles. Probably the most calm they were for the day.

Sunday School Lunch

Sunday after church and Sunday School our class took us out for lunch to say goodbye. I didn't get my camera out until the very end so I only got 2 shots.

Here is John and Robert who were enjoying running around. We would always eat Wednesday Night Supper with Robert's family as well as Ms. Betty. Here is part of the crew as they are thinning out. We also had people sitting behind us where the windows were open. It was a nice goodbye although lots of kids in a restaurant made it a little difficult.

Intern Welcome Picnic

Each year Dr. Cobb hosts an intern welcome picnic at his home to welcome the new class of interns. Last year Daddy was on call so Mommy took John by herself. She was wore out at the end of the day. This year Daddy got to take John out on all the boats and John was in cloud nine. He didn't want to leave the boats. There is always a big race between each residency class and the staff as well as anyone else who wants to risk jumping in a boat.

I think for the first time in history the interns made it over the finish line first. My friend Missy and Clara. Missy threw my baby shower for me.

Hunter and Hayden's Birthday Party

Last week we had Hunter and Hayden's birthday party to go to. Hunter turned 4 and Hayden turned 2. They had it as Monkey Joe's and the kids had tons of fun.

Weekend in Tally

We went to Tallahassee Father's Day weekend for a last trip with us being so close. We had a great time visiting. We even got to go to Jack and Krista's baby shower. We will miss being so close to Tallahassee and close to them as well especially once their new baby comes. Although it is probably a good thing as we are not going to let Clara near a son of Jack's. Sunday we headed to Wakulla Springs and once we got close it was raining so we didn't get to enjoy it as we had hoped. We did get to spend some quality time with our dog Abe which was nice. He has been at Grammy and Grandad's house since March but will be coming back to live with us once we get settled at Fort Campbell.

Nana and Clara, this is where Clara spent the majority of her weekend. Cuddling up with Nana was her favorite spot.

John decided before we left to go to Grammy and Grandad's house that he was going to sleep with them. I told him to call and ask, which he did and they agreed. John talked them to sleep the first night. The second night I think he went to sleep faster.

Matching Shirts

John and Clara have matching shirts and this was the first time they have gotten a chance to wear them. Mainly because John has become picky about what he wears. John's shirt says, "I am a Big Brother" and Clara's shirt says, "I am a Little Sister." John didn't want to wear pants with his shirt because his sister didn't have any on either, even though hers was a onesie.

Tent Time

John is into making tents or castles. We have to use all the blankets and pillows to create them. Here Daddy and John are in their tent with their little lights reading a book. Or maybe John is playing with the light
