Happy Birthday Jesus!

I have to say one of my favorite Christmas traditions that I have started with the kids is to make Jesus a birthday cake. It is the reason we are celebrating Christmas and it is nice to remind them of that. John started asking when we were getting Christmas decorations out when we were going to make Jesus birthday cake. He remembered from last year. This year, he started asking even more questions, like is Jesus going to come get some of his cake? I love his questions but sometimes they aren't so easy to answer. Like when you explain that Jesus lives in our hearts and he asks how he gets in our bellies? He took to some serious decorating this year.

I think someone got into the cake a little early.

The Live Nativity

One of my favorite things about being in Athens for Christmas is being able to go to the live nativity at church. Luckily we let John check it out before we went in to the Christmas Eve service because it was pouring rain when we came out.

Our Visit with Santa

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Savior!

Here are the kids on their second visit to Santa. The first trip we got individual pictures at the Bass Pro Shop. Here they are in their matching Christmas outfits.

Downtown Lights

The other night we went to dinner at the Blackhorse and then went and looked at the Christmas lights downtown. We had been down there once before but it was really cold and the fountain was frozen. John loved looking at the lights. He thinks you have to have lights on your house for Santa to find you. We don't have lights on our house and neither does Mimmie and Popsy so he is going to be out of luck if that is the case.
