San Antonio

Burt had training at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio so I was able to fly out mid-week and we were able to stay through the weekend. We stayed on post during the week but the weekend we stayed on the Riverwalk.

The last morning these firetrucks were surrounding our hotel and our hotel was filled with smoke. Apparently their was a small fire in the gift shop. "Nothing to worry about" according to the hotel staff.

Visit in B'ham

I took the kids to Birmingham to meet up with Grammy and Grandad two weeks ago so I could go to San Antonio with Burt. The great thing about meeting up there is we get to visit with my cousin Josh's family. We had a great time visiting with Alicia, Josh, Caroline, and meeting baby Clark.

Casing the Colors

Today was the casing of the colors for 4th Brigade as they prepare to deploy. This is the final step in the deployment preparation. One of the batallions with their colors displayed. Another one of the 6 batallions.

Burt's Farewell Party

Grammy and Grandad had a farewell party at Nanny's farm for Burt while we were in east Tennessee. It was a great way to get family and friends together to say goodbye before Burt leaves. It was such a wonderful time and we were blessed by so many family and friends who made the effort to come and join us.
