My Ballerina

Clara loves ballerinas now. I am not sure how this fascination began but will be happy to oblige her. Here she is dancing in my first recital costume. I was an emerald in Snow White.

John's Spear

How this child talks Grandad into things I haven't a clue? Here John is with his spear that grandad made sharp for him. Ok, I can deal with that. Then Grandad gets out a jug of gasoline and lights a match because John wants to drive a spear into the ground like Chief Osceola. My response to Grandad was "Do you think this is a good idea?" Which Grandad responded with a "Probably not." Um-huh!
Just so you know I was holding a running water hose while this was going on. Into the ground.
Swoosh!
Guess up next we get to master doing this on a horse!!

FSU vs. Clemson

Well another week in Tallahassee means another college football gameday. We had an 8 pm game against Clemson but one little girl wasn't going to be left out this week. Here the crew is pregame cheering for the Noles. Me and my little sweet peas
John cheering at the fourth Noles game this season. Hmmm, spoiled much?
This is for Edward and Martha - their Clemson Tigers running out on to the field.
The Noles running out.
Chief Osceola putting the spear into the ground.
Former Seminole Buster Posey now of the San Francisco Giants.
Here are some action shots of our future cheerleader dancing.

Cheering for the Noles.
Florida State retired Derrick Brooks jersey at the game.
What an 8 pm game does to John!
Yet, this little bit was wide awake having a blast. She told Grandad when we left "I like games." I don't think there will be anymore leaving this chickadee at home on gamedays.
Unconquered at night - very cool with the flame.

Cousins

While we were in Tally, Burt's cousin Jason, wife Erika, and kids Mackenzie, Kaitlann, and Knox came over for a visit. It was great to be able to visit with them and for the kids to play. John asked when we would be able to go to their house and Mack and Kait were ready to come back over the next day as well.

Kids swinging Joh, Kait, and Mack
Clara laughing at the older ones.
Clara was very intrigued with helping Erika with Knox.
John pushing Mack.
John and Kait were sitting over on the bench like this for a long time. Wouldn't you like to know what they were discussing?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Even though a world apart from the love of my life I am extremely blessed in my life. I am so thankful for wonderful family who prays for us and we are able to spend time with especially today. I am thankful for a Lord who saw fit to send his son to die for me and carry me each day when things get too tough. I am thankful for friends who are encouraging and loving me each day. I am thankful for this country in which we live and the Army which our family serves. I am thankful for food to eat, a house to live in, and clothes to wear. I am thankful for the technology, which not always functioning as I would like, that allows me to see my husband from time to time. I am beyond grateful to the Lord for these three blessings in my life - my imaginative boy who is so full of life, my husband and the man of God he is, the provider for our family, and incredible father he is to these two little ones, and this beautiful girly-girl who gives me lots of kisses and hugs to encourage me each day.
Praise the Lord, I tell myself, and never forget the good things he does for me. Psalm 103:2

One of our afternoons in Tallahassee we headed to the North Florida Fair. I don't know who had more fun - the kids or Grandad. On the double decker carousel.

Mom and Clara on a twirly thing (awful picture I know.)

John in the hamster water ball. This was probably the coolest thing there.
