Painted Pumpkin

We are back from our week of traveling and will start to post pictures. We had a great trip visiting friends and family. I only wish there was time to see everyone. On our way back today we stopped at Opry Mills to feed Clara. John and I went inside, with Clara, to go to the bathroom. I told him if he was good we would go look at the big catfish. When we went in they had tables set up with kids Halloween activities. There was some cute things and all free. John got to paint a pumpkin and he thought that was fun. Totally not planned but a good break before the last hour of our trip.

John's Birthday Party

We finally had John's birthday party as we were waiting to Clara's baptism weekend. We had a cookout the night before when all our family got in town.

John's firetruck cake - I had this idea to make this and it sort of turned out how I imagined it. John was happy with it so that is all that matters. Grandad and Popsy

Clara's Baptism

Well, the big day finally arrived and Clara was baptized. It took a little effort trying to coordinate schedules between family, the church, and our good friend Bishop (Dick) Wills. I worked for Dick for three years while living in Fort Lauderdale and he is one of my (Lori's) best friends. Rarely a week goes by that I don't have some sort of communication with Dick so it is really special to have had him baptized John and now Clara.

The service, we also joined the church this Sunday.
Handing Clara to Dick.Dick baptizing Clara. Pastor Lenoir puts water from the Jordan River in the baptismal font. We think that is very special.Talking with Dick after the baptism but during the service. The Bishop is a bad influence. Here Pastor Lenoir is talking to the children after the baptism. They sit at the front during baptisms and then welcome the child into the congregation. They have their own response where they are told about God making the child, and they say that is good. They have several other things they are asked and respond to and it is really sweet.

Rainy Day

Grammy got John these cool rain boots and rain jacket. So the first rainy day we had he had to put them on. Aren't they cute? He had so much fun running in the rain.
