Cousin Rose

We stopped in Atlanta to see cousins Sally, Matt, and Rose. Clara and Rose were so happy to play together. Trying to get both girls to look at the same time, not so much. They were in dress-up ballet costumes and had their baby dolls wrapped in blankets.

Aunt Lola's Visit

Aunt Lola came to visit us during her Spring Break. The kids had a blast playing with her. Here they are all in John's bed with all the stuffed animals and blankets John could find. Clara did not want Aunt Lola to leave and cried when she left.

Deployment Chain

Army kids know too much about deployments, seperations, Iraq, and Afghanistan than the normal child. Clara will tell you her daddy is in "A-gan-stan," at "work, bye-bye." John will tell you daddy is gone a year, even as we are half-way through. Woo hoo! We had some friends make us a deployment chain that we take one chain off every week. I get asked about every night if it is "chain night." Being an Army brat, you always have a friend whose daddy is coming and going as well. Two of John and Clara's friends' daddy just left so the kids made them a deployment chain. John hard at work.

Dr. Seuss Day

John's class had Dr. Seuss day last week to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday. So to start the day I made John green eggs for breakfast. They were supposed to dress as their favorite Dr. Seuss character. John chose The Cat in the Hat. So Mommy had to make a costume, hand-made hat and all. This boy was so happy and proud, it was totally worth it.

John's First Karate Class

John had his first karate class tonight. He has been beyond excited about it and was ready to go.

Clara during class. You think she is sitting nice and coloring but oh no, not quite so lucky with her. She was all over the place. She kept going over to her brother and I think she went and hugged and kissed him twice while he was in class. Not sure it will work out so well with her in class with him.

Clara's First Dance Class

Clara had her first dance class tonight and she LOVED it!! She has been talking about being a ballerina for a while so I hope she really does continue her interest in it. Here she is before class.

Stretching

Here is John during class. He actually did very good. We took coloring books and workbooks for him to do but he watched quite a bit. When they were getting tap shoes on he walked over to make sure his sister would get a pair. Then he complimented her after class on how good she did. He is a sweet big brother!
