Trimming the Tree

After we got home with our tree, we got to do the fun stuff - decorating. Here Mommy and I are looking at the ornaments.

Getting some balls out to put on the tree.
I like getting out all the ornaments most of all. Mommy explaining a Go Vols! ornament.
Yes, even Abe got to come in for the festivities. Here I am tackling/hugging Abe.

Abe is my protector. Abe is so funny.

Putting up one of the gold balls.I like to put things up high.
Daddy helping me get way up high. Here is the finished product. Needless to say we have had a few ornaments to be moved around and the beads are something new to work with every day. Plus our star is a little tilted but with a real tree we are just happy to have it up there.
Here I am saying cheese with my eyes closed.

With my guitar, after our nightly sing-a-long, my new favorite activity.

O Christmas Tree

Saturday we ventured out to buy our Christmas tree. This is what most of the time consisted of- John thought it was a maze and just ran through the trees. Luckily he had red on so we could spot him pretty easy.
I think this one is nice.

Which one Daddy?
There are an awful lot of trees around here. Saying cheese, although not looking at the camera, with Mommy.A family shot at the Christmas tree place.

Making Music with Daddy

Daddy brought me a new musical instrument back from San Antonio. I already had my guitar from Bolivia and now I have this musical shaker from Texas. Daddy played it while I played the guitar. We sang many songs together while Mommy prepared lunch yesterday.

Building a Fire with Daddy

I have been wanting to build a fire for some time. I like to "turn it on" at Grandad's house so now I think I can turn all fireplaces on. Well, yesterday we built a fire despite the 70 degree weather. I wanted one again today but it was closer to 80 and Mommy said No.
Daddy showing me that it is hot and I don't touch.
Sitting in front of the fire with Daddy.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Daddy turned 35 while in San Antonio so we celebrated when he got home. John was very excited for the Happy Cake! You see who blew out the candle!

This is yummy!

Hospital Tree Lighting

Yesterday was a day full of activities. We went to a Happy Birthday Jesus party at MOPS, then to lunch with Hunter and Hayden. Followed by a trip to the airport to drop off Daddy's car and be picked up by Katie and Karis. We went home for my nap then to the hospital tree lighting where Mommy took cookies for the FRG. We then left there for a few more errands and then Mommy ran home to get ready for Daddy's Christmas party (without Daddy). I went to play at Ms. Chaille and Mr. Matt's house, it is also Emerson's house, that is who I played with. I also went to bed there and Mommy woke me up to take me home. Then the best part of my day was Daddy was home when I got there. He has been in San Antonio for three weeks and the only thing I have said to him on the phone is "Home, Daddy, Come Home." So we are looking forward to fun-filled weekend with Daddy.

Mommy did manage some pictures of the hospital tree lighting. Here are the Dickens' Carolers. They were really good.
The hospital tree That's me, Gary, and Jerald. Gary and Jerald's dad is Daddy's office mate.
I am warming up to the big guy. At first, I wanted to sit on the big rock beside him.

Look, I am actually in his lap. Mommy is hoping this is a good sign for our trip to the mall.

Tis the Season for baking

Yes, it is that time of year when baking becomes almost a daily routine. I think we will be making three batches of cookies this week alone. Last night, we made cookies for playgroup today at Kate's house. Cheese Mommy!
This is the new task I have learned, how to put the cookies on the baking stone. I am not real good at it but this is Mommy's least favorite part of cookie making so maybe she will let me get some practice.
Here is a picture from the playgroup. Mommy didn't have the camera when Kate and I were laying in the bed ready to take a nap, yeah right! If you don't know, Kate is my girlfriend. We are always giving hugs and kisses to each other. Daddy has already said he is going to have to have a talk with me about how to treat young ladies.

Painting some Christmas ornaments

Mommy bought me some Christmas ornaments to paint the other day. It was a fun holiday treat. Mommy is looking forward to hanging them on the tree when we get one.

Weekend in Tally

Mommy and I have spent the past five days at Grammy and Grandad's house visiting with them , Nana, and the dogs (oh, and BT the cat although he won't have much to do with us.) We had a great time. There is never a shortage of things to do when Grandad is involved.

Here is one evening when we took the dogs to the park, all four of them. Grandad helping me over a fence. The dogs and I in the bushes.
Running in the field
Climbing on the monument, my dog Abe is the one closest too me. He is also the biggest of the crew.

Standing on another monument. I also helped Grammy in the kitchen making biscuits.

I did a good job.
I continued my new activity of making houses or castles with pillows.
This is fun stuff.
We also went to the park across from Grammy and Grandad's house. I call it John's park.
I did a good job of climbing too.
Laying on top of Nana.
Spending some quality time with Ikey.
Ikey is Abe's dad.

Ikey is a sweet dog.
