The Rest of Hawaii

These are the last of the Hawaii pictures that span our last three days or so.

The resort we stayed at has an annual Jazz and Wine Festival to raise money for the Kauai Lifeguard Association. We went and had a lovely time sampling the food and wine. We laughed because our favorite think we sampled was escargot. Who would have thought? Beautiful sunset from our balcony

I think this was Maniniholo Dry Cave

Ka'lil'o Beach, where the road ends on the north side of the island

Leaving the resort our last day, the first day the clouds didn't block the view

Smith Family Luau

There is something about being in Hawaii that you have to go to luau. I found the Smith Family Luau was voted the best one on the island and it did not disappoint. My favorite part was the owner said a prayer before the meal. There was probably 600 people there that night and I just thought that really spoke volumes about this family business. We also set next to a couple that lived right above Cookeville, TN. Small world!!

They have a garden that you can walk through or take a tram through.

Thought this was a neat tree.

Taking the pig out of the ground.

The dancers did a variety of dances of the different Polynesian islands.

Love the Samoan fire man.

Another Day in Paradise

By the pool in front of our villa - You never know what you will see.

This is the view of the beach from our sister hotel the St. Regis

We took a walk down the beach to right at Hanalei Bay.

You can see some surfers in the water.

Hanalei Pier (you see this scene in Soul Sufer too)

Sunset from the balcony of the St. Regis
