Daddy's Surgery

Burt had ankle surgery today. They were able to repair the cartlidge in his ankle but unable to do anything with the ligaments due to the swelling and fluid. He will have to go back in for another surgery in about two weeks to repair the ligaments. John and him are watching Star Wars. John has been obsessed with Darth Vader for a while and we are not sure why or how he got into them since he has never seen them. I have a feeling him and his dad will be watching a lot of movies over the next few weeks.

Happy Birthday My Baby Girl!

My Sweet Baby Girl is One today! This year has surely flown by. Our life is truly blessed with this precious little girl.Clara currently weighs 18.4 lbs and is 28 3/4 inches long.
She still does not sleep through the night.
She LOVES her brother! She puts up with him doing a lot to her and she just laughs.
She will eat about anything we give her. She hasn't really shown disinterest in any food.
She loves graham crackers, spaghetti, ice cream, chocolate (she is her mother's daughter), and Yo baby yogurt.
She crawls like a champ and is making short walks across rooms.
She doesn't like to be held. She wants to be down so she can be on the go.
She is always clapping. It is the cutest thing!
She has her two bottom teeth.
She is simply the most precious little girl who we love with our whole hearts!

Quite Proud of Herself

Clara loves playing in the fridge. She gets in there and throws everything out of our deli drawer (that just sits in the bottom because of the cheap nature of our fridge.) Here she is the other day when she got in, opened the package of pita bread, and proceeded to eat it.

Muffins for Mom

John's school had Muffins for Mom last week for Mother's Day. They made a sweet little tile with their hand on it. Here is me and my favorite boy.

John's New Habit

John likes to get in bed with his sister when she wakes up. He gets in there and plays with her. It is really sweet. One morning I heard him go in there and then he was going to come out. I hear him saying, "Sister, I will be right back. I will be back in just a minute. Don't cry, I will be right back." She started crying when he left so I went to see what he needed. He needed a blanket since he was in the bed with her. I love that he loves his sister so much!

More Mother's Day

We went to Cole Park for lunch on Mother's Day like we did for Easter. I have to say my favorite thing, which the kids enjoy as well, is the chocolate fountain.

Mother's Day

We took a few pictures before church today. I feel so blessed that God has entrusted me with these sweet children to raise.

Clara is wearing one of my baby dresses. I know I wore this my first Easter because I have my picture made in it. If our scanner wasn't in storage I would scan a photo in. Burt looked at it today and said it was amazing how much we look alike.
