My Day at the Pool

Dad got off from his night of call about 2 pm today so we decided to have some fun time. We decided to make our first visit to the pool for the season. John loved it!!

We have to test the waters first.
Now don't leave me Da!

Letting Mom lead me around the pool.
After my nose dive under, it didn't stop me for long. This place is cool! Sitting down in the water.
Adjusting the sprinklers.
I have a feeling "Pool" is going to be my new favorite word!
I love this place!
This is SO MUCH FUN!!!
Doing a little dance in the water with my sideways hat.Time to reapply Dad's sunscreen.

Playing in the "Juice"

To John, anything that is in liquid form is "Juice." So playing in the sprinkler is playing in the juice. This is a popular activity in the Columbus heat, although the past few days have been actually ok.

Getting ready for my run through.
I really am thinking about it mom.
Maybe if I check the temp first.
Let's let Abe in on the fun by playing with the stick.
My run through.

A Week of . . .

After a week of rest and relaxation for Mom and Dad and week of fun and not hearing the word no for John, we are back at home. I think it was a great week for all three of us. Burt and I enjoyed a much needed vacation and break from the everyday things. John had a great week at Grammy and Grandad's house for some spoiling with cousin Baylor, Abby, Ikey, and Abe (our new puppy's name.) Although we all had a nice vacation, we are happy to be home and back together as a family. And Mom did surprisingly well away from John for the first time but by Wednesday she was looking forward to Saturday and seeing her baby again (even though he has certainly grown this week with new words, in size, and by having four new teeth coming in.)

Since John wasn't with us this week, you will have to settle for pictures of his parents.

For anyone who has been to Key West, you must know about the Cat Man. If you don't he does a show twice a night at Mallory Square with his house cats he has trained. He is absolutely hilarious.

Here the cats are getting ready to jump through the flaming hoop. Clap, Clap, Clap!
Key West is famous for their beautiful sunsets at Mallory Square. You can see it setting over Sunset Key where Oprah has a house.

Out in the Mangroves during our waverunner tour. We got within four feet of a dolphin and saw two sharks as well.
Behind us is the Southernmost Point in the United States - the red, black, and yellow buoyA butterfly landed on Burt at the Key West Butterfly HouseHere we are going up on our parasailing tripUpUpAndAwayOn the ride back from the parasailing tripOur last sunset in Key WestClouds blocked most of our view of the sunset but it was a pretty night.

The ride back to Columbus, Abe is taking it easy in John's new ride from Grammy and Grandad.John liked Abe to be where he could pet him in the car.

John's Hat Obsession

Last summer in Italy, we tried and tried to get John to wear a hat. He would have none of that. We constantly had people telling us that he needed to have a hat on, like we hadn't tried that. Even this winter he would not wear anything on his head. Well, now he has decided that he likes hats and is constantly putting one on. This is the toboggan that he found in his closet that he decided to wear. Don't you love how they have minds of their own even at this young age!!

Columbus Musuem

This morning our new Summer Joy Playgroup took a trip to the Columbus Museum and then lunched at Chick-fil-a. The Columbus Musuem has a great children's interactive play area and the best part of it is that it is all free!

Here John plays with the lighted block area
Climbing on the boat
Trying to lift the peg board
They have a great dress-up area with costumes that people from India where. John really wanted a hat but he settled for Ms. Sara tying a scarf around his head.
Back to the lighted lego block area but still wearing the scarf.

My First Date?

We mentioned on a previous post that our friends Jeff, Michelle, and Abby are moving to south Florida. Well, tonight they came over for dinner since their house is all packed up and we wanted to spend some time with them before the move. And since we have our new puppy and Abby loves puppies John thought it would be a way to make a good impression. What these pictures don't show is the parents inside and John and Abby outside at the picnic table. They were sitting on one side together in what looked to be a deep conversation. John was pinching her nose, Abby was giggling, hugs and kisses. It was the funniest thing to watch. Since we couldn't capture those enjoy these.

John sharing his car and Abby sharing her shoes

The dog ate Abby's ice cream then tried to make up with kisses
More ice cream, yum! Mommy made homemade soy ice cream so John could enjoy it as well.
Taking a rest in the dog's bed (that he does not sleep in)
John giving Abby a kiss

All smiles after the kiss, John looks pretty proud of himself, huh?
