Goodbye

One thing about the Army is that you know goodbye will come sooner or later and I think it makes relationships develop deeper and faster. We moved to Fort Campbell a week after the Lennons did and they become friends instantly. We moved from that house a year after we had moved in but only being two blocks away we were always walking over to each other houses. Between 2 of Mike's deployments, one of Burt's, three birthdays for each of the four kids, Bible study and a race for me and Wanda, prayers for each other, and so much more it is time for the Lennons to move on to Germany. It is hard to lose these friends but we will soon be saving our nickels and dimes so we can visit in two years for Katy's high school graduation. We love you and will miss you guys!!

Clara and Kara walking on the last day of school we all walked together. John and Kara before walking

John told me he wanted him to take some pictures the other day of him and Kara. John DOES NOT like having his picture taken so this was huge. Kara and him are the best of friends and he is going to be so lonely without her.

Katy surely can't be left out. Katy has been a loyal babysitter for the kids since Clara was about 3 months old when she watched her for the first time. I think Katy has turned me down once because she was going to be out of town. She is the only person I know who would take all of John's beatdowns in stride. I mean John shot her in the head with an arrow. Seriously!! She is more like a big sister to the kids at this point. I took pictures of her and her best friend Brittney last weekend and John wanted to tag along. Don't you love how he was sneaking in pictures with his spear!!

"Posing" with Katy and Brittney

John and Katy, he wouldn't smile.
