More House Pictures

Clara's room is ready for show and tell. Other than not having a dresser, which we have been looking for one for over a year, it is complete. On a side note, Clara officially got weened two weeks ago! Woo hoo!

She got this wall cross in her Easter basket and I love it! It matches her room perfectly and was also the verse we used on her birth announcement. View from the door -

John's room from the door - we are in the process of redoing his room. We have been looking for bunkbeds and are having a problem finding one that we like that has furniture to match. I also have him new bedding to match the green walls. Luckily, the green matches his old bedding too.
I haven't put anything on the walls in here since we are getting new furniture so basically everything is sitting on the shelves or in the floor.More stuff on the floor - Here is the master bedroom. This is a work in progress as well. We painted the walls beige and the bedding is going to stay but we are looking for a new bedroom suite for us. We figure using some of my old stuff that I got in 8th grade, my cedar chest my grandpa made me in 5th grade, as well as the bedside tables my grandpa made us as a wedding gift, we have got quite a hodge podge. We are going to reassign the items my grandpa made to other rooms and are ready to get rid of the old 8th grade furniture. So if we ever find what we are looking for, you will get an after shot.

Change of Command

Two weeks ago the 101st had a change of command - A new division commander, Major General John Campbell took over as the head of the 101st. He is in charge of about 18,000 soldiers so this was a big deal.

Burt took John to watch. John's favorite activities were the paratroopers with their red smoke and the porta-potties.

My Little Bookworm

Clara is obsessed with books. She constantly is bringing you a book and wanting to sit in your lap while you read it to her. Her favorites are a first farm words book, a puppy book, and a Mickey Mouse book. Here she is reading her farm book.

My Date

Burt and I have been trying to be intentional about doing one-on-one activities with the children. It usually ends up that I do things with Clara and he does things with John. So in effort to change that John and I have been going on dates. We went on a pool date, an ice cream date, and on Sunday John and I went to Nashville to meet Nellann and her boys. We ate an early dinner at Rainforest Cafe and went to the fishing store, aka Bass Pro Shop. The plan was to leave after that since we said our goodbyes to Nellann, Jack, and Ben but John decided he wanted to do some more things. We ended up picking him up some new pjs, going to the tool store, and riding the Merry-go-round. He held my hand almost the entire time, it was so sweet. We were actually going to do some more things but the mall closed, ugh! We did stop for him an ice cream on the way back though. I had a super day. It was made even better when John said, "Mommy, girls are beauty!" I said, "You mean girls are beautiful?" "Yes" "What girls are beautiful John?" "You are Mommy!" My handsome date and me

Slip 'n Slide Again

We got out Slip 'n Slide out for the last time as it busted during this day's use. The kids had so much fun with it that it was worth the few hours of entertainment. Look at the look John is giving me, the boy cracks me up. Yet his sister is ready for the fun to begin. One handsome boy!
Oooo, this is fun!
Water all over the face!
I think this is one of the key factors in the busting of the Slip 'n Slide! It popped right underneath this just a little bit later.
Two siblings having fun!
Daddy came home during our fun time!
Reaching for Daddy!
Helping Clara slide! She was happy! She was laughing!
