Slip 'n Slide

John has been wanting a slip 'n slide and I finally gave in. We set it up the other day and I thought Clara was going to take her nap. She decided she wanted in on the action too. So I stripped her down, that is why she is in a diaper for the first shot, then I got her bathing suit. My little surfer girl! Having some summer fun!

Seminole/Gator War

Somehow we live next to two sets of Gator fans and if there is anything we agree upon at this house is that we don't like the Gators. Well, John has become a huge Seminole fan. Burt and I agree he far surpasses him, Grandad, and Uncle Jack. He constantly talks about Florida State, spears, and Garnet and Gold. He is quite funny as he can identify multiple teams, can tell you who likes that team, and when he has a new babysitter asks who their team is. All that said, our neighbor Mr. Mike and John have a HUGE rivalry going on. They are constantly talking trash to one another. So, Mike had a plan - He put this Gator bumper sticker on John's Jeep. So we planned to go outside at the same time for John to see it.
The first glance.
He immediately started tearing it off.
Throwing it down.

After he threw it in the trash, look at that lip.

Mr. Mike trying to put the Gator sticker on John. After this, he also put stickers on John's tractor. They all immediately go in the trash. Well, John brought back some things from Tallahassee and put them on Mike's truck. I got pictures of that but for some reason can't find them. The other night we decided to do a little more. We took down Mr. Mike's Gator flag and put up our Seminole flag. John quite proud of his accomplishment.

At first Mike thought John was just playing in their front yard, which is a normal occurance. He then realized why we were in the yard.
Chasing John with the flag. Even though we are moving next week, I think this rivalry is far from over.

Picnic with John

I have been trying to be intentional about using Clara's naptime to spend one-on-one quality time with John. Last Wednesday after Bible study, John and I ran by Chick-fil-a and grabbed some lunch for a picnic. We put Clara in her bed and had a picnic in the front yard. I have got to learn how to take some more flattering pictures while I am holding the camera, ha! Here is John and I at our front yard picnic.

Happy 4th of July!

We had a pretty low key 4th of July. We spent some time packing (since we are moving the weekend of the 18th, more on that later.) We grilled steaks and corn on the cob. We enjoyed watermelon, snap and pops, and sparklers. Fireworks were cancelled due to a tornado warning and thunderstorms so Burt and John enjoyed them last night. Clara and Mommy (I told you low key day, I never put make-up on.)

John enjoying some watermelon.
Clara enjoying her first watermelon. It was a hit!
My two little firecrackers! The wild man!
He is so funny!

Clara thought they were so funny! She kept laughing everytime John would throw one down.

At Home in the Swimming Pool

Clara has finally gotten to wear she likes to swim in the little swimming pool. Yesterday she wanted in the pool without any water in it. I put her in and she was laying on her stomach like she was swimming in it just laughing. Here the kids are the other day taking a dip in the little pool.

New Park

We have a new park close to the house so we ventured out on Monday to check it out. It is definitely geared towards older kids but has that ever stopped John. Clara was making me a nervous wreck though because she thinks anything her brother can do she can do as well.

Climbing to the top!

John doing the zipline. I love how you can see Clara in the corner watching him. John doing the rock wall.
Going down the big slide!
Monkey bars!

Just chilling!
