Comparision Shots

I am finally getting these pictures on the blog. They are from two weeks ago now but the first picture is when I was pregnant with John. I was 29 weeks and 5 days along. These are the pictures from this pregnancy. I am 29 weeks and 6 days in this one. So there is just one day difference in them. I think I am smaller this time although these pictures look about the same to me, I know I have gained less weight this time around.

John wanted to show off his belly this time too.

I Love My Daddy and I Want to be Just Like Him!

Daddy left for Denver on Monday to take his boards and I was enjoying giving him hugs before he left. In case you didn't know Daddy sprained his ankle a couple of weeks ago. He had a brace on for a while. Then he had x-rays and an MRI, it showed an old fracture as well. So he is supposed to wear this huge boot. Ok, he doesn't wear it all that often because we know doctors make the worst patients. So the past two days John has told me he has a hurt ankle and needs to wear his "brace." So this is what he puts on, his Bob the Builder bike knee pad around his ankle. He wears it for a few minutes then says it is all better. This kid cracks me up with the stuff he comes up with.

Playing with Emerson

Monday afternoon we went over to play with Emerson or "Emers" as John calls him. We had such a good time and did not want to go home and take a nap. Maybe that is why the nap was less than an hour long.

I'm a Big Boy . . . Sometimes!

So we are on that road to potty training and John is so proud of his underwear. He was calling people to tell them about them on Friday. We are kind of hit or miss on how well we do. I have not braved going out with them on yet. He did pick out Elmo and Diego though. He calls Diego Dora because he doesn't watch either show. He just knows that cousin Molly watches Dora so I guess that is where that comes from. He wanted Winnie the Pooh, which is not something he is into either, but we could only find those in girls. We are on the lookout though. I might have a future underwear model on my hands the way he was showing them off.

Mommy and Daddy's Night Out

It is not very often that we get a parents' night out. We just enjoy our time as a family when Burt is actually off of work. About a month ago our friends Jacob and Cynthia called to let us know Third Day was coming to town. So we planned a night out to go to the concert with them and another couple. Burt and I are huge Third Day fans so we were quite excited. I (Lori) haven't seen them since my senior year in college and Burt had never seen them in concert. After the concert, Burt commented that it is not everyday you go to a concert and know every song. We knew them all except the three new ones they sang, which will be on a cd to be released in July. I am sure we will have to get that one since we have all of their other ones, some we have two of. They had three opening acts; Revive, a group from Australia; December Radio, and Sanctus Real. On another note, on their tour t-shirts their first three tour dates were in Kuwait and Iraq. We were quite excited that they had been part of the USO tour. Sorry for the quality of the pictures, I took my old camera but it really is Third Day with Mac Powell front and center.

SNOW!!!

Yes, we had some snow this morning in west Georgia. It wasn't much, just a flurry, but we had to take advantage of it. Thanks to Mimmie saving everything, we had Uncle Rylan and Uncle Jace's snow suit that she saved from 14 years ago. Maybe we didn't need a snowsuit but hey it was snowing. See it really was snowing!
John wasn't sure about the snow but he knew Mommy and Daddy were excited about it.
Daddy trying to get John to come out in it a little later. This was after Daddy got him dressed!
This is about all that stuck on the ground.
FYI: Two days ago it was an absolutely beautiful 70 degrees!

My Monkey Continued

I forgot about these pictures I had from a few weeks ago. John loves to stack pillows in the floor and jump. It makes me a nervous wreck. He also will yell Airborne! I have no idea where he learned that, Daddy!

Just taking a break in the sun.

My Little Monkey

John is such a little monkey. This is a new trick he has learned. He can lay in Daddy's office chair upside down. He thinks this is quite funny. He did it and then said, "Take my picture." Look at me!

Isn't this funny?

More pictures from Sunday

We have had some beautiful weather and have been enjoying time outside. Yes, it was warm enough for shorts for a few days. Today it is 39 degrees but we do see that spring is coming.

John playing with Mommy's old dump truck. John decided he wanted to pose. This hardly ever happens.
Even Abe was enjoying playtime. He was trying to see if he could get any Yoo-Hoo out of John's leftover box.

A Visit with Cousin Edward

This weekend Daddy's cousin Edward came to stay with us. He is at nearby Fort Rucker for training so we got to visit with him for two days.

Saturday night after dinner we went out for ice cream. Yes, John has a kid-sized cone.
John had fun playing with Edward. This is when Edward was getting ready to leave and John is hugging him bye! Daddy, (Abe, trying to get out of the picture), Edward, and John
Thanks Cousins Madison and Luke for sharing your dad this weekend. We had a good time and a good visit catching up. Maybe next time you can come to play too.
